It has been estimated over 2 billion hectares of degraded land present alternatives for forest and landscape restoration . In September 2011, world leaders launched world Bonn Challenge – a voluntary international initiative that aimed to revive 150 million hectares of degraded land by 2020 . Desertification and local weather change, each individually and together, will cut back the availability of dryland ecosystem providers and lower ecosystem health, including losses in biodiversity . Desertification and altering climate are projected to cause reductions in crop and livestock productiveness , modify the composition of plant species and scale back biological range throughout drylands . Rising CO2 ranges will favour extra rapid expansion of some invasive plant species in some regions.
The land challenges confronted at present vary across regions; local weather change will improve challenges sooner or later, while socio- economic growth might both increase or lower challenges . Increases in biophysical …
